Sustainable stewardship

Glenaladale is an environmental enterprise in the West Highlands of Scotland. It supports sustainable management of Moidart’s environment in the public interest, collaboratively with our neighbours and the public agencies such as Scottish Natural Heritage (http://www.snh.gov.uk ) and Forestry Commission Scotland (http://scotland.forestry.gov.uk )

PARTNERSHIP

The railway line from Fort William to Mallaig passes through what I consider to be the most beautiful country in all Scotland. Four or five miles westwards from the head of Loch Eil one comes all of a sudden into Glen Finnan. It is a deep, wooded glen shut in by very high hills.

The Prince’s Monument stands as a silent, gaunt reminder of the day, August 19th 1745, when the standard was raised to strike a last blow for the Stuarts.

I have never seen anything so beautiful as Loch Shiel in the sunshine of an early June morning.
